Mirrior Part 1

nine months have passed. nine months of a desk job. my reflections on it. too choose a desk job, you must make sure that the work that you want to do on that desk is something you want to do. do not do something that you don;t want to do. because when something happens especially if it is something bad, you are most likely to shoulder the responsibility. the question is are you prepared to shoulder that responsibility? of course, the amount of responsibility that you shoulder is also dependent on the pay that you receive. nevertheless, you cannot shrink away from the responsibility.

the people who work with you are also important factors which must be considered. of course, this is really by luck because you cannot really choose who you want to work with, but you can decide how good you want your working relationship with them to be. most of the jobs around are usually made up of the same philosopy. no man;s an island and you cannot work alone. teamwork is the key to alot of problems. if you want to fly solo, you must make sure you can handle it. because chances are usually you cannot handle it.

make friends with your colleagues. because, when the need arises, they will be helping you as a friend. if you just maintain a professional working relation, then don;t expect them to do anything more than they are paid to do. you;ll be lucky if you meet someone nice.

whenever you meet a problem, you got to ask. don;t expect help to fly down from the sky. and sometimes, you got to swallow some pride to ask someone. don;t try to be a hero and solve the problem. it would be good if you knew what to do and if you have handled the similiar problem before. but ask if you are unsure. at least, when the problem really cannot be solved, your conscience is clear because you knew you asked around and the more experienced people.

what do you think?
