temasek

the typical singaporean doesn;t really go out late at night, just to have some fun at some clubs. listening to loud blasting music. drinking berverages that in the end makes them puke everything out. go round looking at people of the opposite gender. showing off what they have and what they wear. neither does the typical singaporean spends all the hard earn money on materials that they don;t really need.

there is always a distinction between wants and needs. but apparantly, to all the atypical singaporean, all wants are taken as needs, and all needs are taken for granted. some atypical singaporean claims that not going out, not hanging out with friends, doesn;t have this, doesn;t have that, means no life. some even despair being lonely and bored for a few days. imagine the elderly individuals in Homes for the aged. they have been lonely for years and i bet you, they sure are bored.

another point to note is that atypical singaporeans will cry foul the moment anything doesn;t get into his or her ways. come on, a little setback has never killed anyone. the worse is these group of people wil fume and fume over the injustice inflicted in them, but never spent any effort in trying to change the situation. they seem to be waiting for something to happen. something which until today i can;t seem to ans that question.

i mean, its a little setback, and surely you can start all over again. maybe unless, you lose your 5 senses. sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell. that might be a valid justification to start wailing and complaining. but the weird thing is, there are people who don;t have either of the 5 senses but yet are even more optimisitic than those abled bodied individuals and will spend whatever necessay efforts to change their fates.

guess its time to start reflecting about the past. but don;t let it bring you down. let it inspire you, so that 5 years down the road when you look back, you can say that you did changed your own life. and you have all the right in the world to compare yourself currently and yourself 5 years ago. try not to compare yourself and another person, because the comparisons will never ever come to a sensible conclusion.

maybe out of this reflection, you may learnt some values that best education cannot.

what do you think?
